Saturday 30th of September saw another reunion of the the ships company of HMS Illustrious at the Royal Maritime Club.

The theme this year was the Big Bang, which is reference to the Gearbox Explosion onboard on 1986. This event meant the ship missed a lot of the planned visits on the Global 86 deployment. She caught up with the rest of the force in Australia.

Ships company from all years attended, from all over the UK and one lad even came from Spain to join in.

It was a brilliant weekend, topped of by an auction and raffle which made £500 for the Rowans Hospice in association with Karen Andrews, owner of The Stag, New Road.
