Portsmouth is No. 10 in Airbnb’s list of places in the UK which people are searching for most.
The list is based on recent searches made on Airbnb for a 2023 check-in, so it offers an insight into the places people actually want to visit this year.
With its Historic Dockyard and a whole host of other maritime and entertainment attractions, the city is rapidly becoming a top staycation base.

The draw of the sea is strong for visitors to Portsmouth. In the same survey, 77.2% visited the seafront., with walks along the promenade extremely popular.
Airbnb’s Amanda Cupples said: “Our data shows that British holidaymakers are exploring both the nearest and farthest corners of the globe for their 2023 escapes, with the north of England and Scotland proving particularly popular for domestic holidays, while sunny Spanish hotspots top the trending international destination list.”
